Smoky BBQ Tandoor Chicken Recipe


Little Lucifer
  • 6 - 8 chicken drumsticks
  • 1 pkt Little Lucifer Savoury Herb Flavour
  • 2 tsp sweet paprika
  • 1/2 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric
  • 1/2 tsp chilli powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1/2 tsp dried mint
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt


  • 1/2 cup yoghurt
  • 1/4 cup mint leaves, finely chopped
  • 1 small cucumber
  • Rice, steamed, to serve (optional)

What to do

  1. In a roasting tray large enough to hold all the drumsticks, add the spices and chicken and toss well until the drumsticks are evenly coated with all the spices. For the best results allow this to marinate for a few hours in the fridge before cooking.
  2. Place the roasting tray on to a preheated barbecue on low and cook for 1 - 1.5 hours or until the chicken drumstick are tender and falling apart.
  3. Meanwhile make the raita by grating the cucumber into a small bowl along with yoghurt and finely chopped mint leaves. Adjust the seasoning with salt.
  4. Serve the drumsticks with steamed rice and raita.
